Moroccan Mint Tea

A tea set designed for high pours alongside the hospitality of family and friends.

Research Notes & Sketch Ideation

The idea behind this project was to research Moroccan tea culture, which the most prevalent type of tea being their mint tea. There were plenty sources on this topic, and I made sure to extract the common themes and ideas behind the culture itself and the tea-making process.

Ideation focusing on spout and handle design with emphasis on preserving Moroccan tea culture.

Prototype & Model-making

Two-point-five dimensional models cut out of corrugated paper board, following user testing to change design and evaluate everything in scale.

CAD modeling in Fusion360

A three-dimensional drawing pen and super glue was used to assemble 3D-printed pieces together. A repetitive process followed: sanding and spot putty applied to all surfaces until totally smooth. The white models were finally finished with appliance epoxy.

Touching up the Model for Rendering

In pursuit of a in-context render, the CAD models were roughened and weathered in ZBrush to give off a petina that the product's theme was alluding to. A petina was perfect to match those themes of hospitality and tradition established from the beginning. A short table was also modeled to pair with the tea set.
